Discovery Center Museum is located on the Riverfront Museum Park campus, with the Rockford Art Museum and Burpee Museum of Natural History in downtown Rockford, Illinois. We're ideally located for a full day or two of education, adventure and family fun! Discovery Center is one of the top family attractions in Northern Illinois and has received recognition at the local, state, and national levels.

Blue Star Museums Program
Between Memorial Day, May 29 and Labor Day, September 4, 2017, active duty military personnel and up to five family members will be provided with free admission to Discovery Center. This free admission program is available to any bearer of a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), a DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card, which includes active duty U.S. military - Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, as well as members of the National Guard and Reserve, U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps.
Forest City Queen Rides
This summer, the Rockford Park District is partnering with Discovery Center to offer 45-minute tours of the Rock River on the Forest City Queen. The riverboat will dock behind Discovery Center and offer rides on June 20, July 11, July 25, August 1 and Auguest 8. Rides depart at 11 am, 12 pm and 1 pm.
